BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU RULES
There were changes in judo rules after the introduction of judo in Brazil. Some changes to the rules were sought to improve them as a sport for viewers, and some to improve for safety.
Many of these changes in rules have reduced the importance of the basic aspects of judo, and others have reduced the range of locks allowed and when they can be applied.
Jiu Jitsu didn’t follow these changes to judo rules and gave him this different identity variation as artist of wrestling, while being identified as judo.
Other factors have contributed to the stylistic difference BJJ sports include the desire for Judo Gracies.
To create a national martial art, the impact of Brazilian culture and the focus of Gracies in full contact fighting allows all techniques that allow judo fighters to take battle on the ground. These include judo scoring, as well as judo techniques other than Judo which are referred to as skillful dumping.
BJJ also differs from judo in that it also allows a competitor to pull his opponent on the ground and even falls to the ground as long as he has grabbed for the first time.
