
Muay Thai techniques
There are two types of techniques allowed and those that are not allowed, among the allowed techniques of the muai thai are the following:
Allowed Techniques
- Grab the opponent’s leg when he projects a kick.
- Frontal kicks : These will be allowed only when they pass the belt line.
- Circular kicks : may impact on any part of the body with the exception of the genitals.
- Locks : Blocking with the tibia is allowed.
- The Clinch : The opponents can hold each other to hit each other, using the allowed punches. If within a time limit of 5 “, no blow is made by either party, the referee must separate them.
- Projections : They are always valid as long as judo techniques are not used.
- The knees : They can be used to hit whenever the impact is not in the genital area. These will have a great impact in favor of obtaining points on the cards.
- Pushes : These will be allowed only to destabilize the opponent and be able to execute the punches.
- Take the guard : This is done to connect the blows of the elbows and knees.
